The H2D is one of two specialty printers in the ANU MakerSpace (the other being the Prusa XL FDM Printer). It features a heated and enclosed build chamber, AMS and a dual-nozzle 350 degree print head that makes it perfect for printing materials such as TPU, Nylon, ABS and more. The dual nozzle design is especially suited to using a specialty support material. It’s also blazing fast.

While it is large (320mm x 320mm x 320mm), and it will do multi-colour PLA prints, these tasks are better done by the Prusa XL, which is bigger, and wastes less material when using more than 2 colours.

The H2D is sliced using Bambu Studio, a slicing software which shares many similarities with PrusaSlicer. Speak to staff if you get lost, as some settings have moved and the filament management is a little different to the XL.

We’re still testing the machine with high temperature printing, but we have validated the following materials: PETG-CF, PET-CF, TPU 85A, VarioShore TPU, 95A TPU, ABS-GF
