The TTS Probe is a high accuracy probe which can locate edges, corners, holes and bosses.

There are two key rules when using the probe:

  1. NEVER USE THE PROBE WITHOUT TESTING IT FIRST
  2. NEVER CLOSE THE DOOR WHILE USING THE PROBE

Loading the probe

Begin by loading the probe into the spindle similar to any other tool. Immediately plug in the probe cable to the side of the electrical cabinet (the screw on the side should face the operator). Set the tool in Pathpilot to tool 99. Test the probe by applying slight force to the ruby tip, the probe should light up as should the ACCESSORY INPUT light in the probe page in Pathpilot.

Using the probe

Jog the probe to the desired feature, note the probe tab in Pathpilot shows the starting location for the tip of the probe.

Pressing the SET WORK ORIGIN button on any of the probe routines will start the probe. Watch the machine carefully until the probing sequence is complete.

You can slow down the probe speed using the MAX VELOCITY slider within Pathpilot
